ToggleAriel’s Magical Chai
There’s something undeniably magical about the rich aroma and exotic flavors of homemade chai. It’s more than just a beverage; it’s a sensory experience that warms the soul. I’ve always been enchanted by chai, but finding the perfect recipe can be elusive—many are closely guarded secrets. Today, with permission and a blessing, I’m thrilled to share a treasured recipe from my dear friend, Ariel.
From the moment I met Ariel, I knew she was an old soul with a rich, elegant sensibility that shines through in everything she creates. Not only does she craft opulent jewelry as Ariel Jewelry Designs, but she also makes the most sensuous chai I’ve ever tasted.
Homemade Chai Recipe
Ingredients
- Black Tea Bags or Loose Leaf Indian Black Tea (any Black tea will do)
- Fresh Ginger
- Green Cardamom Pods
- Cinnamon, Clove, Nutmeg, Cayenne
- Shredded Coconut, Raw Cacao, Maca Powder
- White Pepper
- Raw Cane Sugar or Raw Honey (or any sweetening product you wish)
- Milk or any milk-type product you wish

Instructions
- Spice Blend: In a wooden bowl, mix 2½ tsp cinnamon, 1½ tsp clove, ½ tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp shredded coconut, 1 tsp raw cacao, 1 tsp maca powder, ⅛ tsp cayenne, and ⅛ tsp white pepper.
- Tea Base: Bring 6 cups of water to just under a boil. Lower the heat, add 6 tea bags (or 4-6 tbsp loose tea in a tea infuser), slices of fresh ginger, and 10 cardamom pods. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Chai Infusion: Remove the tea bags or infuser, then stir in 2-3 tbsp of your spice blend. Cover and let the chai simmer on low for 15-20 minutes.
- Strain: Without stirring, strain the chai to remove the spices.
- Sweeten: Add raw cane sugar or honey to taste, typically 4 tbsp.
- Serve: Mix chai concentrate with equal parts milk. Enjoy each cup as a soothing ritual.
Why I Love Homemade Chai
Homemade chai is about so much more than a cup of tea. For me, the ritual of preparing it is part of the experience—measuring spices, simmering the tea, and filling the room with warm, comforting aromas.
I love how each ingredient contributes its own character. The black tea provides a rich foundation, while ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves create layers of warmth and depth that feel both energizing and grounding.
Most of all, chai reminds me of connection. This particular recipe was shared with me by my dear friend Ariel, making every cup a small celebration of friendship, generosity, and the simple joy of sharing something meaningful. Whether enjoyed alone with a good book or shared with loved ones, homemade chai has a way of turning an ordinary moment into a memorable ritual.

As the fragrant chai fills your home, take a moment to meditate, embracing the healing energy of this sacred blend. It’s a wellness ritual that balances the senses and nourishes the soul.
Warmth and serenity,

Nourish Body, Mind & Spirit
One of the things I love most about homemade chai is that it transforms ordinary ingredients into a meaningful ritual. The process of preparing tea, blending spices, and slowing down long enough to enjoy a warm cup can be just as nourishing as the drink itself.
Whether you’re seeking a moment of calm, a cozy wellness ritual, or simply a delicious way to warm up, recipes like this remind us that healthy living can be both beautiful and deeply satisfying.
